Toyota Cheaper Than "Chinese": Seven-Seat Veloz Sold in Russia from 2.6 Million Rubles

The Toyota Veloz compact van with a seven-seat interior is significantly more affordable than most three-row crossovers

In the Russian market, there is a rare option for the current realities — an inexpensive seven-seat Toyota. The Toyota Veloz compact van, officially sold in the Middle East and Southeast Asia, continues to be imported into the Russian Federation through parallel imports. Prices for such cars start from 2,575,000 rubles, which makes the model significantly cheaper than many Chinese competitors with three rows of seats.

Veloz has virtually no direct analogues in Russia, and most seven-seat crossovers are significantly more expensive. For example, the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro Max is estimated at a minimum of 3,305,000 rubles, the Geely Okavango is offered for almost 3.9 million rubles, and the Jetour X90 Plus is almost 4 million rubles. Against this background, the Toyota compact van looks especially attractive to family buyers.

Most Toyota Veloz are brought to Russia from the UAE. The most affordable offer — from a company from Omsk — involves the supply of the GX version. The equipment includes LED headlights, 17-inch alloy wheels, an eco-leather interior, a leather multi-steering wheel, climate control, a rear-view camera, a semi-digital instrument panel, a multimedia system, keyless entry and a full set of electronic safety assistants.
