Premium car sales collapsed

The premium segment sagged along with the market, but some brands managed to buck the trend

At the end of 2025, 130.4 thousand new passenger cars of premium brands were sold in the country, which is 16.4% less than a year earlier. This data is provided by analysts of the Avtostat agency with reference to the statistics of JSC "PPK". The fall was comparable to the dynamics of the entire car market, which decreased by 15.6% over the year.

Despite the decrease in absolute figures, the share of premium cars remained practically unchanged. If in 2024 it was 9.9%, then at the end of 2025 it was 9.8%. Experts note that this indicates the continued interest in expensive models, even against the background of a general cooling of demand and a reduction in sales.

The leader of the premium segment in terms of sales remained Exeed, but its result decreased by 47% to 21.7 thousand cars. The second place was taken by Tank with a figure of 18.6 thousand cars and a drop of 35%.

The third line was taken by BMW, which increased sales by 42% to 16.7 thousand units, despite the lack of official deliveries. The top five also included Lixiang and Hongqi, with the latter showing growth of 40%.
