It was proposed in Russia to reduce the cost of OSAGO for women. The National Automobile Union (NAS) came up with the initiative, proposing to introduce a reduction coefficient of 0.8 when calculating the insurance policy. This was reported by the Telegram channel SHOT.

According to the published data, women are much less likely than men to be held accountable for traffic violations. In 2024, 51,527 drivers were convicted of such crimes in Russia.

Of this number, almost 95% were men - 48,754 people. There were 2,773 women among those convicted, which is just over five percent of the total.

The publication also notes that, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, women are less likely to be involved in road accidents with serious consequences. This is because they are less prone to risky driving, sudden maneuvers and speeding.

The National Automobile Union believes that the introduction of a special coefficient will make insurance more accessible to women. The president of the organization, Anton Shaparіn, said that such a measure could attract more women to the automotive sector and reduce the accident rate in the future.
