German automaker Porsche reported a sharp decline in profits for 2025. The company earned only 413 million euros, which was one of the weakest results in recent years.
One of the reasons for the drop in profits was American import tariffs. According to the company's estimates, about 700 million euros were spent just to cover them. CEO Michael Leiters noted that due to the tariff policy, the working conditions in the American market have changed significantly.
The tariffs also led to an increase in prices for the brand's cars. For example, the Porsche 911 sports car now costs from $135,500. For comparison, in March 2024, the base version of the model started at $114,400 — an increase of more than $21,000 in less than two years.
Despite the increase in price, the company reports stable demand for cars. However, management is considering possible ways to reduce the impact of tariffs.
One option could be to organize production in the USA — either building its own plant or cooperating with Volkswagen. However, according to the head of the company, such a project would require large investments and the creation of a new supply chain.
At the same time, in the near future, Porsche will focus on optimizing the model range. The company plans to reduce the number of car modifications to reduce the complexity of production. According to industry sources, in the future, the Porsche Panamera and Porsche Taycan models may be combined into one car.
