Ministry of Industry and Trade postponed the return of ERA-GLONASS to foreign cars

The requirement for mandatory installation of an emergency button will not come into force on April 1, 2026

The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation has postponed the mandatory installation of ERA-GLONASS buttons on imported cars: the measure will not come into force on April 1, 2026.

We are talking about emergency call devices (UVEOs), which were previously planned to be made mandatory again for cars imported by individuals for personal use.

The ministry confirmed that the introduction of the requirement is being postponed to a later date. The corresponding decision is in the process of interdepartmental coordination.

Previously, April 1, 2026 was considered as the date for the return of the norm, which was canceled several years ago. Now the deadlines have been revised, and a new date will be announced additionally.

The devices are connected to the ERA-GLONASS system and are designed to automatically call emergency services in the event of an accident.
