The legendary 1978 Ford Escort, prepared for Gymkhana and owned by Ken Block, has been put up for sale on the Bring a Trailer auction.
The car was purchased by the racer in 2008 and modified for Gymkhana Grid competitions by Quick Motorsport. The car was converted to left-hand drive and completely redesigned, leaving a minimum of the production version.
The body received an extended Rocket Bunny body kit, a carbon fiber air intake on the roof, and polycarbonate windows. The car is painted in matte black with an image of the US flag on the hood.
The model is equipped with a custom rear suspension with adjustable elements, racing shock absorbers, and underbody protection. The weight has been reduced to 906 kg.
Under the hood is a 2.5-liter Millington Diamond engine producing 333 hp with a redline at 9000 rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed Sadev sequential gearbox and rear-wheel drive.
The interior is completely lightened: Recaro sports seats, a Sparco steering wheel, and a new instrument panel are installed. Ken Block's signature has been preserved on the driver's door.
