Chery introduced the updated Tiggo 8 Plus Champion family in China. The main novelty was the Highway NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) system, which became available for the first time for one of the brand's most popular and relatively affordable models. The car's price starts from 99,900 yuan (1.1 million rubles).

Highway NOA technology is designed for highway driving. It uses cameras, radars, and navigation data to keep the car in its lane, automatically change lanes, navigate interchanges, and adapt speed to road conditions. Previously, such functions were more common in more expensive models of Chinese brands.

The updated Tiggo 8 Plus has retained its status as a family mid-size crossover. The model is offered with 1.6 and 2.0-liter gasoline turbo engines and has also received an expanded set of electronic driver assistance systems. The Tiggo 8 family remains one of Chery's key products both in the domestic Chinese market and in export destinations.

The most interesting thing about this premiere is not the design or the powertrains. Chery is effectively transferring semi-autonomous driving technologies from the more expensive segment to the mass market. This intensifies competition in the world's largest automotive market and shows how quickly driver assistance systems are becoming standard equipment.

If the trend continues, in the coming years, automatic highway driving functions may cease to be the privilege of premium cars and appear even in relatively inexpensive crossovers.
