The Chinese brand Lynk & Co has introduced a new version of the 08 EM-P hybrid crossover. The main news is that the 38.2 kWh battery is now available not only in expensive trim levels. Thanks to this, the electric range has increased to 230 km according to the CLTC cycle, and the starting price of this modification turned out to be lower than the previous version with a similar battery.

This refers to the 08 EM-P Max version. The car is equipped with a plug-in hybrid system based on a 1.5-liter turbo engine and an electric motor. The combined output reaches 402 hp and 615 Nm. The manufacturer claims a combined range of up to 1400 km, and fuel consumption with a discharged battery is 4.5 liters per 100 km.

The equipment is of particular interest. Even the base version with an increased battery received lidar, 11 cameras, 12 ultrasonic sensors, and an Nvidia Orin-Y computing platform with 200 TOPS performance. This allows the use of the Navigate on Autopilot function both on highways and in urban conditions.

The interior features a 15.4-inch multimedia system display with Apple CarPlay support, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 50W wireless charging, and a 23-speaker audio system.

For the plug-in hybrid market, this is an important update. If previously buyers had to overpay for the maximum trim level for a large battery, now the long-range version has become significantly more affordable. Compared to most competitors offering 100–200 km of electric range, Lynk & Co is betting on a combination of a large battery, advanced driver assistance systems, and the ability to travel long distances without being tied to charging infrastructure.
