After the updated 2027 Porsche Taycan, public attention was drawn to new features and interface changes. However, behind the loud announcements, a much more important piece of news went almost unnoticed: the Sport Turismo and Cross Turismo wagons disappeared from the lineup.
The fact was confirmed by Porsche representatives. These versions are no longer available in the new Taycan lineup. The company has finally abandoned the electric wagons, which many automotive journalists considered the most successful modifications of the model.
The reason turned out to be trivial — insufficient demand. A similar story happened with the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo, production of which ended back in 2023. Despite positive reviews from the press and owners, buyers preferred more traditional body styles.
The situation looks particularly interesting against the backdrop of competitors. In the US, demand for the BMW M5 Touring and Audi RS6 Avant wagons exceeded manufacturers' expectations. However, Porsche failed to achieve similar success with either the Panamera Sport Turismo or the electric Taycan Cross Turismo.
Meanwhile, many experts called the Cross Turismo one of the brand's most versatile models. Introduced in 2021, the car received increased ground clearance, a special Gravel mode for driving on dirt roads, and a more practical body. A number of specialized publications called it one of the best electric vehicles for everyday use.
The Taycan GTS Sport Turismo also received equally high ratings. After its debut, the model regularly appeared in rankings of the best electric Porsches due to its combination of dynamics, handling, and wagon practicality.
