GWM has registered an updated version of the Ora Ballet Cat electric hatchback with the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). At the same time, it became known that the model might receive a new name — Ora 6, continuing the brand's abandonment of the "cat" naming system.

The Ballet Cat debuted in China in 2022 and quickly attracted attention due to its design, reminiscent of the classic Volkswagen Beetle. The car featured rounded body shapes, distinctive fenders, and a sloping roofline. Despite its unusual style and original equipment, the model did not achieve commercial success: according to China EV DataTracker, only 8,523 vehicles were sold from July 2022 to June 2026.

After the update, the hatchback retained its recognizable design but became significantly more powerful. Instead of the previous 126 kW (169 hp) electric motor, it now uses a 150 kW (201 hp) unit. The top speed increased from 155 to 180 km/h.

The dimensions have hardly changed: length is 4401 mm, width is 1853 mm, height is 1681 mm, and the wheelbase reaches 2750 mm. The car is equipped with 18-inch wheels and a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery manufactured by Svolt, part of the GWM structure. The manufacturer has not yet disclosed the battery capacity.
