The personal Honda NSX of legendary racer Ayrton Senna will be put up for auction again. The RM Sotheby's auction house will offer the car for sale in London on October 31, expecting to fetch between 500,000 and 800,000 pounds sterling (approximately 52 – 84 million rubles).

This particular example has special historical value. In the early 1990s, when the McLaren team competed with Honda engines, the Japanese manufacturer actively involved Senna in testing the future NSX. During prototype tests, the racer noted that the body's rigidity was insufficient. Following his comments, engineers strengthened the structure by approximately 50% and refined the suspension. As a result, the production NSX became one of the most famous sports cars of its time.

This specific red 1991 Honda NSX was given to Senna by the company for his travels in Europe. In total, according to the auction house, the champion received three such cars: two black and one red with left-hand drive. The car was located in Portugal, where the racer spent a significant amount of time between World Championship stages and tests at the Estoril circuit.

After Senna's death in 1994, the car remained in Portugal and then changed owners several times. In 2013, it was acquired by a collector from the UK. In 2024, the sports car was already put up for sale with a mileage of about 39,100 miles (approximately 63 thousand km), and was later sent to Japan. The auction house has not yet disclosed information about the current mileage.
