Toyota has announced a recall of approximately 508,000 2025 and 2026 model year Camry vehicles. The reason is related to the software of the 7-inch instrument cluster located behind the steering wheel.
If the display does not start, the turn signals, hazard warning lights, and seat belt warning chime may also not work. Speed and other important vehicle parameters may also become unavailable to the driver.
The problem appears to be a software glitch rather than a mechanical malfunction of the car itself. Toyota plans to reprogram the instrument cluster for free at dealerships. Notifications to owners are expected to begin in early October 2026. What is particularly unpleasant is that this concerns the fully current generation of Camry, which has been on sale since 2024.
