BYD has launched the new flagship of its Ocean family, the large Sealion 08 crossover, in the Chinese market. Five- and six-seater versions are available to buyers.

The dimensions of the Sealion 08 are 5115 × 1999 × 1800 mm, with a wheelbase of 3030 mm. The hybrid version received a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with 156 hp and an electric motor on the front axle, developing 272 hp. For the all-wheel-drive modification, a second electric motor of the same power is provided.

It is also equipped with a traction battery with a capacity of 55.84 kWh. The front-wheel-drive Sealion 08 can travel up to 400 km on electric power according to the CLTC cycle, while the version with two electric motors can travel up to 350 km.

Prices for the hybrid crossover in China start from 229,900 yuan and go up to 269,900 yuan. This is approximately 3.0–3.5 million rubles at the current exchange rate.

The fully electric Sealion 08 received a significantly larger battery — 115 kWh. In the rear-wheel-drive version, the crossover develops 503 hp, while the dual-motor all-wheel-drive version delivers an impressive total of 796 hp. The range of the electric Sealion 08 is also significantly higher. For the rear-wheel-drive version, up to 900 km is declared according to the CLTC cycle, and for the all-wheel-drive version — up to 800 km.

The cost of electric modifications ranges from 239,900 to 279,900 yuan — approximately 3.1–3.6 million rubles.
