Xiaomi announced that it will start selling its cars in Germany and other European countries in 2027, with the first practical step being an agreement with eight major German dealership groups.
Memorandums of cooperation were signed at IFA 2026 in Berlin. Xiaomi's partners include Ernst Dello, Autohaus Dinnebier, Emil Frey Germany, Fett & Wirtz Automobile, Hahn Automobile, LUEG Mobility, Penske-Jacobs Innovation, and SPT Avior.
These are currently memorandums, not final dealership contracts. Xiaomi has not yet disclosed the number of future showrooms, the partners' areas of responsibility, the terms of cooperation, or specific timelines for opening the first locations. The company intends to attract additional dealers as the European launch approaches.
For Xiaomi, choosing Germany as a starting point is quite logical. It is the largest automotive market in Europe, and its presence here simultaneously allows it to build sales, service, and brand recognition in one of the continent's most competitive countries.
Some of Xiaomi's new partners have significant experience with premium brands. For example, LUEG was the first official Mercedes-Benz dealer in Germany, and Emil Frey is among the largest automotive dealership groups in Europe.
However, Xiaomi is not starting its European expansion from scratch. In September 2025, the company opened its own European research and development center in Munich. Its specialists are involved, in particular, in adapting cars to the requirements of the European market, electric vehicle technologies, dynamics, and automated driving systems.
