Tesla has scheduled the premiere of the new Roadster for October 1, 2026. The company published a teaser with an image of a red sports car and the inscription "Go for launch," and a countdown appeared on the model's page. The event will take place in Texas; invitations were received by early reservation holders.

Interest in the premiere is not only due to the design. Back in 2017, Tesla announced for the Roadster an acceleration to 60 mph in 1.9 seconds, a top speed of over 400 km/h, and a range of about 1000 km. Now these figures no longer seem unattainable: the Rimac Nevera R accelerated to 100 km/h in 1.72 seconds in 2025.
A separate intrigue is the possible version with cold gas thrusters, developed with the participation of SpaceX. According to Reuters, its demonstration may be held at the SpaceX test site in McGregor. Such a system should use jet propulsion to improve dynamics, and early statements by Musk even allowed for the car's brief ability to lift off the ground.
But the premiere does not mean immediate deliveries. Earlier, Musk spoke of launching production approximately 12–18 months after the presentation, so if this schedule is maintained, the first production cars may appear only in late 2027 or 2028.
