Porsche Cayenne Electric Gets Rolls-Royce-Like Doors and 105 Body Colors

For the 2027 model year, the company added wireless charging and 92 new shades through the Paint to Sample program

Porsche has expanded the equipment list for the Cayenne Electric for the 2027 model year. The main innovations are power-operated doors, wireless car charging, and the Paint to Sample program, which now allows buyers to choose from 105 body colors.

The electric doors operate automatically: electric motors help open or close each of the four doors after a light touch on the exterior handle. The mechanism can also be controlled with the key or from inside the cabin. The system uses sensors to stop the door if an obstacle or another road user is detected.

This feature has led to comparisons with Rolls-Royce, but technically, Porsche has implemented it as part of its own comfort system. The doors can be closed with a button, and also automatically after fastening the seatbelt and pressing the brake pedal.

Another change is wireless car charging. The optional Porsche Wireless Charging system transfers energy via an induction pad, with a maximum power of 11 kW and an efficiency of about 90%.

The main change for individual customization enthusiasts is Paint to Sample. Porsche has added 92 more shades to the existing 13 colors, bringing the total number of available options for the Cayenne Electric to 105. And these are not random colors from a palette: the program uses shades already developed and tested by Porsche.

New trim options have appeared in the interior, and the massage seats have received a 4D Audio function. It combines massage, vibration, and specially selected sound scenarios in so-called Wellness Mood Modes.

The updated Cayenne Electric is already available for order, and deliveries of the 2027 model year vehicles are expected to begin in the first quarter of 2027. Base prices have not changed, although numerous new options can significantly increase the cost of a specific car.
