Tesla has postponed the presentation of the second-generation Roadster from October 1 to October 15, 2026. The company announced that it had been closely monitoring forecasts with local meteorologists, but due to expected severe weather conditions, it decided to change the event date.

The reason is not only related to the convenience of guests. Tesla had previously announced that the event was to take place exclusively outdoors. This is why the company cannot move it indoors instead of waiting for suitable weather. The new location and exact start time have not yet been disclosed.

The choice of an outdoor venue may be related to the demonstration of a special version of the Roadster with a cold gas thruster system, developed jointly with SpaceX. It was previously reported that Tesla plans to showcase the capabilities of such a car during a separate show. However, the company itself has not yet disclosed the technical specifications of the system or confirmed all the details of the proposed demonstration.

The second-generation Roadster was first unveiled in November 2017, and production was initially promised for 2020. Since then, deadlines have repeatedly changed. In September, Tesla reopened order taking, and the new presentation date should be an opportunity to finally reveal the car's specifications, price, and production plans.
