BYD plans to install 100 ultra-fast Flash Charging stations in Europe by the end of 2026. By the end of 2027, the company intends to increase their number in the region to 3000. Representatives of the manufacturer announced these plans at the Paris Motor Show.

The chargers are capable of delivering up to 1500 kW of power through a single connector. According to BYD, a compatible car with a second-generation Blade Battery can be charged from 10 to 70% in five minutes, and from 10 to 97% in nine minutes. The result depends on the car, temperature, and charging conditions: the stated figures apply to cars that support this technology.
The first BYD station in Germany was installed in 2026. Currently, in Europe, the Denza Z9 GT wagon supports Flash Charging technology. In the first quarter of 2027, it should be joined by the BYD Atto 8 electric crossover — a seven-seater model with a 115 kWh battery and a range of up to 653 km according to the WLTP cycle.
The European network will be part of BYD's international project. The company plans to deploy 6000 Flash Charging stations outside of China, half of which will be in Europe. In China itself, the manufacturer is already developing infrastructure on a much larger scale.
The network expansion is related to the entry of new models into the European market that are capable of accepting ultra-high power. Without a compatible battery and appropriate charging system, a car will not be able to utilize the full potential of such stations.
