Jeep has unveiled the updated 2026 Grand Cherokee model year — and while it looks familiar at first glance, the new product has received a number of improvements, including a new power plant and a more advanced 4xe hybrid version.
The appearance of the crossover has not changed radically, but enough to distinguish it from its predecessors. The updated headlights have become narrower and more expressive, while retaining their recognizable shape, and the new rear bumper makes the model's profile more dynamic. Three fresh body shades have appeared — Copper Shino, Fathom Blue and Steel Blue, which add premium feel and allow you to emphasize the individuality of the car.
The interior has undergone evolutionary but noticeable improvements. Jeep has equipped the Grand Cherokee with a new dashboard and an enlarged 12.3-inch multimedia screen, which completely replaced the old 8.4 and 10.1-inch displays. The center console and control unit have also been redesigned — the layout has become more concise, and the finishing materials have been improved.
The model range has been simplified, now it includes Laredo, Limited and Summit trim levels. However, each version can be supplemented with dozens of options, from security packages to premium audio systems. The basic modification received 18-inch wheels and a standard set of electronic assistants — automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, cross-traffic monitoring and a blind spot monitoring system.
More expensive versions are distinguished by a high level of comfort: a panoramic sunroof with two sections, Nappa or Palermo leather trim, seats with ventilation, heating and massage function, as well as premium Alpine acoustics with nine speakers or McIntosh with 19 are offered.
The main changes are hidden under the hood. Jeep abandoned the old V8, focusing on efficiency and technology. Basic versions are equipped with a proven 3.6-liter naturally aspirated V6 Pentastar with 293 hp and 352 N·m of torque, while more expensive ones received a completely new 2.0-liter Hurricane 4 turbo engine with Turbulent Jet Ignition system. Its power reaches 324 hp, and the torque is 450 N·m. This engine provides a range of up to 814 km and a towing capacity of up to 2812 kg.
For those looking for maximum efficiency, the Grand Cherokee 4xe hybrid is available. It combines a turbo four with an electric motor and a 17.3 kWh battery, producing a total of 375 hp and 637 N·m. The hybrid is capable of driving on electric traction and at the same time retains the ability to tow and off-road.
Sales of the updated 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee will start before the end of the year. Full technical specifications and prices will be known closer to the release of the model.
