Price remains the main factor when choosing a new car, especially in the budget segment. Analysts at "Auto News of the Day" studied the current price lists and compiled a rating of the ten most affordable cars in Russia as of November 2025. The top ten includes both domestic models and several Chinese foreign cars, but AvtoVAZ retains the absolute advantage.
The leader of the rating is traditionally Lada Granta. In the basic Standard configuration without airbags, this sedan costs only 749,900 rubles. For the minimum price, the buyer receives a 1.6-liter 90-horsepower engine, a five-speed "mechanics", power steering, heated mirrors and power windows. It is still the most affordable new car in the country.
In second position is Lada Niva Legend - the cheapest full-fledged SUV on the Russian market. Its price starts at 1,059,000 rubles. Under the hood is a time-tested 1.7-liter engine with 83 hp and a five-speed manual gearbox. The basic equipment includes ISOFIX mounts, heated mirrors and audio preparation.
The third line is occupied by the new Lada Iskra, the sedan of which is estimated at a minimum of 1,249,000 rubles. The station wagon costs from 1,499,000 rubles, and the SW version - from 1,629,000. The car is equipped with a 1.6-liter engine with a capacity of 90 or 106 hp, combined with "mechanics" or a variator, and is gradually becoming a new basic model of AvtoVAZ.
Next comes Lada Niva Travel. For 1,314,000 rubles, the buyer receives an all-wheel drive SUV with a 1.7-liter 80-horsepower engine. The Classic configuration includes heated mirrors, 15-inch steel wheels and audio preparation - a minimum, but businesslike.
The cheapest foreign car in November was the BAIC U5 Plus 2024 sedan, which costs from 1,394,500 rubles. It is equipped with a 1.5-liter engine with 105 hp and "mechanics". Even in the initial configuration, there is keyless entry, a start button, heated mirrors and multimedia with a rear-view camera.
In sixth place is the restyled Lada Vesta with a 1.6-liter engine with 106 hp and a price of 1,459,900 rubles. The standard equipment includes air conditioning, heated mirrors and front airbags. Recently, AvtoVAZ began production of a version with keyless entry and remote start.
The seventh position is occupied by the JAC JS3 crossover, the cost of which starts at 1,549,000 rubles, taking into account the promotion. Under the hood is a 109-horsepower engine and a six-speed manual. The base already has air conditioning, cruise control, parking sensors and a stabilization system.
The eighth place went to the veteran - UAZ "Hunter". The only version of 2025 with a 2.7-liter engine with 112 hp and "mechanics" will cost about 1.6 million rubles. The equipment is ascetic, but reliability and cross-country ability are still beyond competition.
On the ninth line is Lada Largus, a station wagon with a 90-horsepower engine and a five-speed gearbox. The price is from 1,660,000 rubles. The car offers a spacious interior, air conditioning, power windows and ABS.
Closes the rating is the Chinese compact crossover Livan X3 Pro 2023, which costs from 1,669,900 rubles. It is equipped with a 1.5-liter engine and a variator, and the standard equipment includes a multi-steering wheel, a DVR, multimedia with an 8-inch display and a keyless entry system.
Despite the increase in prices, Lada retains a monopoly in the budget segment: six of the ten cheapest models in Russia belong to AvtoVAZ. Chinese brands only supplement the list, offering a little more technology for a slightly higher price.
