TopSeed compiled a rating

The most reliable engines of the last two decades have been named — specialists from the TopSeed portal have selected nine power units that have proven their durability and unpretentiousness.

The leader is the Toyota 2TR-FE gasoline engine — an in-line "four", known for the Toyota Tacoma and Hilux Champ pickups. This engine often travels over 400 thousand kilometers without major repairs.

In second place is the 2.4-liter Honda K24, which was installed on the Accord, Odyssey and CR-V. It is distinguished by high reliability and dynamic character, although it is designed primarily for passenger cars.

The third line is occupied by the Toyota A25A-FXS hybrid unit with a volume of 2.5 liters, which is equipped with the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid. It showed excellent efficiency and stable operation in the long term.

Further in the list is the famous Nissan VQ V6, used on the Maxima, Murano and 350Z, as well as the 4.0-liter Toyota 1GR-FE V6, famous for the 4Runner and Tacoma SUVs.

Among the reliable ones, the Honda J35 V6, Toyota 2GR V6 are also noted, and among heavy engines — the Cummins 6.7 diesel, Chevrolet Vortec 6200 and V8 Toyota 3UR-FE. These units are recognized as practically "indestructible" and are able to serve hundreds of thousands of kilometers with minimal maintenance.
