Another Model That Will Never See the Light?: AvtoVAZ Registers a New Trademark

It May Be Received by One of the Upcoming Lada Novelties

A new application from AvtoVAZ for the Lada Astera trademark has been spotted in the database of the Federal Institute of Industrial Property. The appearance of the patent coincides with the preparation for the presentation of a new crossover from the domestic manufacturer, scheduled for June 18 as part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

The company has not yet confirmed that the registered name is intended specifically for the crossover. The list of names reserved by AvtoVAZ through Rospatent includes other options — XRave, XTour, Merida, Darus, and Azimut.

Auto experts do not rule out that some of the names may be better suited for positioning an SUV.

It is expected that not only the name, but also the technical characteristics of the new product, as well as the estimated start dates for mass production, will be revealed at SPIEF-2025.

Earlier, motoram.ru reported that a graveyard of Oka cars was spotted in the USA: Soviet small cars turned out to be unnecessary for anyone.
