The presentation of the updated Lada Niva Travel 2025 took place in Russia. Elena Lisovskaya, a blogger, was one of the first to evaluate the car at the AvtoVAZ stand and shared her impressions of the car.
According to her, the main news is the updated engine. For the first time in 47 years, the Niva received a 1.8-liter unit from Granta instead of a 1.7-liter engine.
The engine has become more powerful, especially at low revs, and now behaves "like a diesel" - confidently and smoothly. The car requires improvements. But now, at least, there is no shame for the engine.
Lisovskaya added that the improvements affected the chassis. The front stabilizer was moved, which increased the car's stability in corners. Non-adjustable hub bearings and new 17-inch brake discs also appeared.
Technically, the car has become better, but it is still a Niva: minimalism in the cabin, a functional approach and wide opportunities for improvement.
The interior of the car remained the same: the same seats and plastic, the same Enjoy Pro multimedia system. A new operating system was presented at the AvtoVAZ stand, but it will not be installed on this version.
The start of sales of the updated version is scheduled for autumn 2025.
