A voluntary recall of 79,884 Kia Sportage crossovers sold from 2010 to 2015 has begun in Russia. According to Rosstandart, the campaign is related to the need to replace the multi-fuse of the HECU unit, manufactured at the Kia plant in Slovakia. The new fuse with a lower rating will provide better protection for the electrical circuit.
Kia Russia and CIS will notify owners of the need for repairs. Owners can also independently check the VIN code of the car for compliance with the list of recalled cars and sign up for service at the nearest dealer center.
The repair will be free of charge: the multi-fuse of the HECU unit and the fuse box cover will be replaced on all recalled Kia Sportage cars. This will eliminate potential risks associated with component failure.
