Li Auto conducted a collision test of the L8 SUV with an 8-ton truck, organized by an independent certified organization. The tests replicated real road conditions using a random truck and equipment provided by the organizer.
The L8 successfully withstood two impacts: a frontal collision with an impact force of about 100 tons and a side impact of about 80 tons. After the tests, the body pillars and door beams remained intact, all nine airbags deployed, the battery did not ignite or leak, and the doors unlocked automatically.
During the development phase, the L8 met the five-star standard of C-NCAP 2024 and the highest rating of G+G+G+A according to the C-IASI 2023 standard. The model underwent 100 tests, including extreme scenarios like being crushed by a truck. The design with a short front overhang and 11 energy-absorbing ring structures effectively distributes impact energy, ensuring the safety of the passenger compartment.
Previously, all Lixiang Auto models received top ratings from C-IASI, and the L8 confirmed the brand's reputation by demonstrating outstanding durability in rigorous tests.
