Next year, the Paris-Dakar Rally will be joined by another factory team - the revived Spanish brand Ebro, managed by the Chinese auto giant Chery, will be competing in the T1+ category. The driver will be one of the most decorated women in motorsport, the Spaniard Laia Sanz.
Ebro's return to Dakar is not only a sporting challenge but also a major step in strengthening the brand's image. In 2022, the company already debuted in this rally, fielding an electric SSV in the Dakar Future category.
Chery also has experience participating in this marathon: in 2010, the company became the first representative of the PRC to take part in the Dakar. At that time, Rely X5 (Chery Higgo 3) SUVs and a Rely H5 support vehicle were thrown into the battle. And last year, the company took part in the Dakar East - the Takla Makan race, where the Tiggo 9 won 3 victories in the modified car category.
