Nizhnekamskneftekhim, a SIBUR company, has launched the production of functionalized butadiene-styrene rubber DSSK-615V. To produce the new product, a method of periodic solution copolymerization of butadiene and styrene was developed. The new grade shows high performance properties and is suitable for the manufacture of both summer and winter tires.
One of the key advantages of the new product is functionalization, since polar groups enhance the connection with the silica filler, which improves wear resistance and reduces fuel consumption, and 30% vinyl in the composition provides stability on winter roads and increased frost resistance.
Tests of DSSK-615V were carried out near Nizhnevartovsk on a frozen lake using Ikon Autograph Snow 3 tires, where they confirmed all their characteristics, comparable to the Nokian Hakkapeliitta R3 model, from which they inherited the tread pattern and design.
