In August 2025, Russians spent 393 billion rubles on the purchase of new passenger cars, a record figure since the beginning of the year. July figures were surpassed by 0.8%, however, this is still lower than last year's figures - in August 2024, 449.6 billion rubles were spent.
The costs for Korean cars grew the most - 10 billion rubles were spent on them, which is 10.9% more than in July. 8.4% more was spent on "Japanese" cars - 30.6 billion, sales of cars from American manufacturers increased by 7% to 4.5 billion. The figures for cars produced by Russian, Chinese and European factories fell by 0.7, 1.1 and 2.3%, respectively.
In terms of total car sales, Chinese manufacturers still confidently hold the lead - they account for 55.2% of the market. The remaining brands are divided in the following ratio: Russian - 15.3%, European - 12.5%, Japanese - 7.8%, Korean - 2.5% and American - 1.1%.
