Audi is preparing a new e-tron

Spy photos of a compact electric crossover have appeared

Spy shots of Audi's new compact all-electric crossover have surfaced online, positioned as the spiritual successor to the A2 model from the early 2000s. The new car is built on the updated MEB+ platform and will be released in 2027, taking a place below the Q4 e-tron in the size range. The car retains the recognizable profile of the original A2, but with modern accents: it is wider and lower, with a more sporty silhouette, a sharp windshield angle, and a steeply sloping roofline after the rear pillar.

The rear of the prototype refers to the classic: a high spoiler extends across the entire rear window, and a "Brake Test" sticker masks the illuminated logo with four rings. The lights now have horizontal LED strips and match the 2025 design, instead of the original vertical elements. The expected name is Q2 e-tron or A2.

Unlike the Q4 e-tron on the old MEB platform, the new model will receive front-wheel drive and an engine in the front. According to Volkswagen MEB+, the range will be about 450 km, the power will be 223 hp (166 kW), and acceleration to 100 km/h will be less than 7 seconds.
