BMW will continue production of the 4 Series coupes and convertibles, as well as the high-performance M4, until at least 2029. According to information from forums and foreign publications, the G22 and G23 versions of the 4 Series, as well as the G82 and G83 M4, will be produced throughout the second half of the 2020s. The 4 Series Gran Coupe will be produced until June 2028. Gasoline models are expected to remain in the lineup despite the brand's gradual shift to electric powertrains.
In the American market, the BMW 4 Series is currently the brand's best-selling passenger car, although sales of the 3 Series for the first nine months of 2025 have decreased compared to last year. The updated 4 Series, recently introduced, will receive another minor update within the next four years, but no global redesign of the model is planned.
In the future, BMW will gradually introduce the Neue Klasse platform to more models, which may affect the 4 Series. Rumors suggest that the production of this model in the next generation may be combined with the 8 Series due to declining demand for coupes and convertibles.
At the same time, the company confirms the preservation of the current lineup in the coming years and a gradual transition to new technologies.
