From 2025, updated rules for seasonal replacement of car tires will come into effect in Russia. Drivers must comply with the established deadlines to improve road safety and avoid fines.
Winter studded tires are required from December 1 to March 1. In the northern regions of the country, the period may be extended until April-May.
The penalty for violating the rules is 500 rubles, including the installation of different tires on the axle, the use of tires out of season and the operation of worn tires.
Summer tires are prescribed to be installed from June 1 to September 1, however, when the temperature drops below +7 degrees, the transition to winter tires is strictly required.
Local authorities are empowered to adapt these terms in accordance with the climatic specifics of the region.
