AvtoVAZ starts certification of Lada Azimut

After the tests, the car will be allowed to be sold in Russia

AvtoVAZ has begun work on preparing the Lada Azimut crossover for state certification tests. After their completion, the car will receive a "Vehicle Type Approval" and the right to be sold in Russia.

To do this, a batch of 16 cars will be produced on the main assembly line within the next 1.5 months, and the first five of them have already been assembled.

They will be sent for testing, in particular, brake tests, tests for compliance with safety, environmental and ergonomic standards. Certification will last until the spring of 2026. Assembling pilot vehicles on the main assembly line is a prerequisite for certification.

The press service noted that 92% of the parts were manufactured on the factory's main equipment. The production technology has also been largely worked out, and the personnel have been trained.
