Speed cameras for cars detect movement no sooner than 150-300 meters after a warning sign. The distance is needed so that the driver has time to react, said Alexander Dombrovsky, director of the road safety department at MVS Group.
According to him, now sign 6.22 "Photo and video recording" is placed only at the entrances to settlements or cities. Separate signs in front of each camera are no longer placed.
The control zone is a guarantee of legal correctness of fixation. Therefore, if you see a warning sign 6.22, you have at least 150 meters to the photo and video recording complex.
According to current rules, fixation is lawful only after the designated control zone. If there is a sign, but the driver passed it and exceeded the speed, the camera will work. However, braking, noticing the complex at the last moment, is pointless: the violation has already been recorded.
