Blow to Motorists: Third-Party Liability Insurance Prices to Rise Again in Russia

Updated directories of the average cost of spare parts will be published in December

The average price of third-party liability insurance policies in Russia has approached its lower limit. In the near future, the cost may begin to rise gradually, according to Evgeny Ufimtsev, head of the Russian Union of Motor Insurers (RAMI).

According to him, the market has already passed the lowest point in the cost of the policy. Ahead is a moderate growth of 2–3%.

Ufimtsev clarified that since the beginning of 2025, insurance premiums have been decreasing, despite the increase in payments to drivers. This was facilitated by a decrease in companies' costs and the strengthening of the ruble. By the end of the year, RAMI plans to prepare updated directories of the average cost of spare parts, materials, and labor costs, but this will not cause a sharp jump in prices.

An accident-prone driver will pay more, and a conscientious one will receive an even slightly larger discount.

According to RAMI data, the average third-party liability insurance premium for the nine months of 2025 amounted to 7,274 rubles, and in regions with low accident rates, the policy costs about 5,000 rubles.

Earlier, motoram.ru reported that a Lada dealership closed in St. Petersburg — for the first time in six years.
