Luxury on Wheels: Every Tenth New Car in Russia Costs More Than 5 Million

The premium segment accounted for a quarter of the market in terms of revenue

The share of sales of cars costing from 5 million rubles amounted to 9% at the end of nine months of 2025. This was announced by Sergey Tselikov, director of the Avtostat analytical agency.

The indicator remained at the level of last year, despite the overall increase in the average check. In absolute terms, this is about 81 thousand cars sold for an amount exceeding a quarter of the total market volume (26%).

The most massive category remained cars costing 2–3 million rubles — 30% of all sales, however, the share decreased by 2 percentage points. Cars priced at 3–4 million rubles accounted for 21% of purchases (+3 pp), and in the range of 4–5 million — 10% (–1 pp).

The segment of 1.5–2 million rubles grew to 16% (+5 pp), while the share of the most affordable models up to 1.5 million rubles decreased to 15% (–4 pp).

The average weighted cost of a new passenger car in Russia for nine months of 2025 amounted to 3.2 million rubles, which is 2.5% more than a year earlier (3.12 million rubles).
