In October, demand for used cars in Russia showed record numbers. Sales increased by 16% compared to last year and by 8% compared to September, experts from the "Drom" portal note.
For the fourth consecutive month, the used car market has shown positive dynamics in the number of transactions. The number of ads for the sale of used cars has increased by 25% over the year, reaching more than 970 thousand offers.
The average price of cars was 1.2 million rubles, and the median price fell to 870 thousand rubles, which makes used cars more accessible to a wide range of buyers.
Experts note that 34 models out of the hundred most popular showed sales growth of more than 10%. Especially active demand - in the range of 20-27% for October - is observed for cars such as Volkswagen Tiguan (1.8 million rubles), Opel Astra (527 thousand), Volkswagen Touareg (2 million), Mazda CX-5 (2.2 million), Chevrolet Cruze (700 thousand), Hyundai Tucson (1.6 million) and Honda Civic (690 thousand).
The increased interest is due to the availability of used cars and restrictions on new cars, analysts explained.
Earlier motoram.ru reported that a Lada car dealership closed in St. Petersburg - for the first time in six years.
