Illiquid assets: 13 Renault cars sold in Russia in nine months

The brand has almost disappeared from the domestic market

In Russia, sales of Renault cars have fallen to a historic low. From January to September 2025, only 13 new cars of the concern were registered, said analyst Sergei Tselikov.

He specified that 10 new Renault passenger cars and three Dacia cars were registered in nine months. A year earlier, there were 268 cars, and in 2023 - 4769 pieces.

For comparison, peak sales of the brand in Russia occurred in 2013–2014, when more than 200 thousand cars were sold per year. For the entire time Renault has been present on the country's market, 2.17 million units have been sold, second only to Kia (2.63 million) and Hyundai (2.62 million).

The decline is due to the company's withdrawal from the Russian market and supply restrictions. Renault is now focused on European countries: France - 393 thousand cars sold in nine months of 2025, Italy - 144 thousand, Spain - 128 thousand, Turkey - 110 thousand, Germany - 108 thousand.
