GAZ Group has presented an updated modification of the medium-duty truck "Valdai 12". An evacuation vehicle designed for intensive operation in urban conditions has been created on its base, according to the company "Modern Transport Technologies".
The new version was developed jointly with the Nizhny Novgorod enterprise "Smarteco-NN". The chassis of the "Valdai 12" with a 4×2 wheel arrangement and a YaMZ-534 diesel engine with a capacity of 170 hp paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox served as the base for the evacuation vehicle.
The design of the evacuation vehicle includes a sliding platform 5950 mm long with a hydraulic drive and a non-slip "lentil" coating. The machine is equipped with a winch with a lifting capacity of 4 tons, rear outriggers, working headlights and a flashing beacon on a magnetic mount.
To improve the convenience and safety of operation, the evacuation vehicle control system is duplicated on both sides of the installation. The equipment includes a crane-manipulator with three telescopic sections (boom reach — up to 10 meters), overload protection, load holding valves, a clinometer and automatic cable lubrication.
As the company clarified, the platform is made of galvanized elements, which increases corrosion resistance. The gross weight of the car does not exceed 12 tons, so registration in the "Platon" system is not required for it. The model is offered in four wheelbase options and with various types of superstructures.
