The Simbirsk Bus Plant (SimAZ) has launched mass production of a new low-floor bus model "SimAZ-4282" in two modifications - medium and large class - in Ulyanovsk. After reaching its design capacity, the company will be able to produce up to 1.5 thousand city and tourist buses.
Investments in the modernization of production exceeded 750 million rubles, of which 101 million rubles were provided by the IDF in the form of a concessional loan. For mass production, the company launched a new production line and a painting complex.
The plant has localized the production of bodies, glazing, exterior and interior elements, electrical equipment, digital instrument cluster, electronics and other things.
The bus is designed for 72 passengers and has 29 seats. The large and medium class vehicles differ in the size of the storage area at the middle entrance group with comparable passenger capacity.
The "SimAZ-4282" is equipped with a gas engine and uses natural gas (methane) as fuel, which is stored on board in a compressed state (CNG) in cylinders under a pressure of more than 200 atmospheres. The range on one fill is more than 400 km. The new product is equipped with an electric retarder, adding smoothness, and an automatic transmission.
