The project to update the power units of Lada cars is being implemented according to plan. A new line of naturally aspirated engines with a volume of 1.6 and 1.8 liters with a capacity of 120 and 132 hp will first be installed on the Azimut, and then on other models, said the head of the company, Maxim Sokolov.
According to him, the project to update the units has been underway since 2024 with the support of the Industrial Development Fund.
A new line of 1.6 and 1.8 liter naturally aspirated engines with a capacity of approximately 120 and 132 hp will appear. These engines will be used first on the Lada Azimut, then on other models. The project implementation period is three years, and we are on schedule.
Sokolov added that the company is also considering classic automatic transmissions and turbocharged engines as part of partnership projects due to small volumes for future Lada models.
