Xiaomi founder Lei Jun published material in which he spoke about improvements to the comprehensive HAD Enhanced Edition driver assistance system. According to him, the updated version makes longitudinal acceleration and braking smoother, better predicts the maneuvers of other road users and reduces speed in advance when cutting in. Lateral lane changes have also been redesigned - the car merges more confidently into the flow, bypasses obstacles and correctly chooses a trajectory.
At the same time, the system received advanced road situation analysis logic. HAD more accurately reads navigation data in complex interchanges and multi-level intersections, reducing the likelihood of error when choosing a lane or route. Xiaomi uses reinforcement learning models and an updated AEB collision avoidance system, supplementing it with an emergency steering assist function.
At the same time, Lei Jun separately emphasized that even advanced HAD remains precisely an assistant, and not an autonomous driving system. Drivers are required to remain focused and monitor the road situation.
The presentation of Xiaomi HAD Enhanced Edition took place on November 21 at the Guangzhou Auto Show, where the company first revealed the full set of next-generation technologies.
