The Accounts Chamber needs to conduct an audit at AvtoVAZ after the company's head spoke about the upcoming increase in car prices. This was stated by Deputy Sergey Mironov.
According to the parliamentarian, the authorities are taking various measures to promote the company, which is absorbing "more and more resources."
The state is doing everything to please the Volga automobile giant. Almost a trillion has been allocated to support the automotive industry, read VAZ, for 2026. They launched the utilization fee to the skies in order to squeeze out Chinese competitors from the market. They squeezed it out: in ten months, the import of cars from China decreased by more than two-thirds. They pushed through a law on the localization of taxis, and now taxi fleets will have to buy cars from Tolyatti. Finally, the company was exempted from income tax until 2028.
Mironov recalled that in January-October, Lada sales collapsed by 25%, and AvtoVAZ President Maxim Sokolov says that the plant has no money.

The deputy stressed that otherwise this "black hole" will continue to absorb more resources, and prices will continue to rise, unlike quality.
