Kama JSC, the developer of the Atom electric vehicle, has become the first Russian company in the field of autonomous technologies for vehicles to receive ASIL D certification according to the international standard ISO 26262. The company noted that this is a significant achievement on the way to mass production of autonomous vehicles.
ASIL D will provide the maximum level of functional safety for the car's electronic systems.
This will allow the manufacturer to supply software, hardware-software complexes, and their individual components for mass-produced cars to third-party customers in the global market.
Kama JSC's developments can be used in elements of intelligent transport systems (ITS) and become part of "smart" cities.
The start of mass production of Atom electric vehicles in Russia is expected before the end of the year, and the cost of the car will be 3-4 million rubles. The number of pre-orders for the model has already exceeded 105 thousand units.
