The 2003 hot rod "Mad Cab" is for sale in Moscow. The car was created manually in the early 2000s and became one of the most recognizable custom cars in the post-Soviet space. The price is 4.5 million rubles.
The basis for the project was a frame with a cab from a ZIL-157. The designers seriously reworked the front end - widened the fenders, lowered the roof, changed the geometry of the pillars, and made a small platform behind the cab. Initially, a compact tractor version was conceived.
The main feature is under the hood. There is a 5.5-liter V8 engine from the GAZ-13 "Chaika" executive car, working with a manual gearbox and driving the rear axle.
The car is registered as a homemade vehicle, so it has the right to drive on public roads. Judging by the published photos, the hot rod is in good condition. It was built in Bishkek in 2003.
