Too calm driving can harm the car's engine as much as aggressive driving. This was reported by the Avtovzglyad portal.
Journalists explained that driving "under load", short trips and monotonous low revs increase the risk of detonation and deposits in turbo engines. Therefore, the optimal mode is a reasonable balance with periodic active load.
And when driving "under load" in modern turbo engines, there is an effect of premature ignition - detonation, simply put. And it can physically destroy the engine. After all, the explosion does not occur at the top dead center of the cylinder, but earlier - when the piston is still going up.
Drivers were advised to use a predictable driving style, but with appropriate episodes of more active engine and transmission operation.
