In Russia, the certification of three new models of the revived Volga brand has begun. The new cars are based on vehicles from the Chinese company Geely.
The company "Nizhny Novgorod Light Vehicles" received declarations of conformity for three "Volgas", the documents are used in the process of obtaining Vehicle Type Approval (OTTS). They are needed for the official start of sales of cars in the country with the subsequent issuance of vehicle passports.
We are talking about the Volga C50 sedan, Volga K40 and K50 crossovers. Presumably, the models are based on the Geely Preface, Atlas and Monjaro, which are already familiar to Russians, respectively.
In 2024, Changan was supposed to become a partner of the Volga brand, ready-made models were even shown to the head of the Russian Cabinet of Ministers, Mikhail Mishustin. However, the cooperation between the companies did not develop.
