A prototype of the Chery Fulwin A9 has been spotted in China — the production version of the Fulwin E05 concept, which is scheduled to launch in the second quarter of 2026. The model is aimed at the mid-to-large sedan segment and will receive electric powertrains, including a version with an extended range. The appearance of the A9 coincides with the growth in sales of Chery's NEV models, which reached 116,794 units in November (+50.1% year-on-year).
The appearance of the new model is noticeably different from other Fulwin sedans. The fastback body, closed front panel in a descending profile, L-shaped optics, chrome accents, and a huge lower air intake emphasize a more premium vector. The test car is equipped with a lidar on the roof — a sign of support for the advanced Falcon 700 Plus driver assistance system. The dimensions are 4930×1908×1480 mm with a wheelbase of 2928 mm — slightly more compact than the older Fulwin A9L.
At the rear, there is a suspended spoiler, a darkened diffuser, and a full-width light strip. The prototype is equipped with semi-hidden handles, 19-inch low-resistance wheels, and frameless mirrors. The interior follows the style of the new Fulwin line: a floating central display, a rectangular instrument panel, a two-spoke steering wheel, a column selector, a floating lower console, and a 50-watt wireless charger. Suede-like materials, chrome buttons, and contour lighting are used for the trim.
The list of options is impressive: fully reclining front seats, refrigerator, aromatization, panoramic roof with dimming, internal communication, karaoke, and electric trunk drive with a light sensor. According to the E05 concept, the extended-range version will receive 18 and 29.9 kWh batteries with a range of 135 and 210 km according to CLTC on pure electric power, and the total range exceeds 1400 km. The fully electric version will offer a 58 kWh battery and more than 500 km, while the extended version will offer more than 650 km.
It is expected that the price of the Fulwin A9 will be lower than the cost of the older Fulwin A9L (from 149,900 yuan, approximately $21,000), and detailed specifications will be revealed closer to the start of sales.
