Voyah Unveiled the Taishan 8 Plug-in Hybrid SUV with a Length of 5.2 Meters

In China, the second model in Voyah's Taishan line has been revealed — the five-seater Taishan 8 plug-in hybrid SUV. The new model has been certified by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China and immediately attracted attention with its combination of size, powerful powertrain, and extensive set of technologies. The Max version delivers a total of up to 657 hp, and the maximum speed is stated at 200 km/h.

The Taishan 8 is more compact than the six-seater flagship Taishan: length 5200 mm, width 2025 mm, and height 1814 mm with a wheelbase of 3090 mm. The exterior is made in a signature style with a large "waterfall" grille, lidar on the roof, semi-hidden handles, and a massive LED strip with the VOYAH logo. Options such as electric running boards, various wheels, and a side radar are provided.

The hybrid is built on a scheme with a gasoline ICE with a capacity of 110 kW (148 hp) and two electric motors. The basic configuration uses motors with 150 and 215 kW, as well as an LFP battery from Xinwangda; weight — 2765 kg. The older version is equipped with electric motors with 150 and 230 kW and a CATL-FAW node, and 21- and 22-inch wheels are available for it. Weight — up to 2815 kg, WLTC fuel consumption — from 0.34 l/100 km.

It is expected that the SUV will receive most of the premium features of the older Taishan: Huawei Qiankun ADS 4.0 driver assistance system, HarmonyOS Cockpit 5.0, 5C charging, seats with 22-way adjustment, and a 32-speaker audio system. Data on the battery and power reserve promise to be revealed closer to the start of sales.
