Used car imports almost broke a record: Toyota and its Corolla made the weather again

Imports of used passenger cars into Russia in November 2025 came close to an all-time high. According to the Avtostat agency, 59,800 used cars were imported into the country - only 100 units less than the record figure in October. Thus, the market actually repeated the peak values recorded a month earlier.

Japanese brands retain an unconditional lead in the import structure. Toyota once again became the most popular brand, and the Toyota Corolla was the most popular model. At the same time, Japan remains the main source of used cars for the Russian market, although its share continues to decline and amounted to 34.2% in November.

Against this background, the role of other destinations is increasing. The share of South Korea increased to 24.8%, and China - to 18.3%, which indicates a gradual diversification of supplies. Experts attribute the surge in imports to the change in recycling rates from December 1: in an effort to import cars under the same conditions, market participants became as active as possible at the end of autumn.
