Nizhny Novgorod-based company Promtech presented a new family of light commercial vehicles, Kapitan-C, at the NAMI proving ground. The lineup includes minivans and specialized versions, with sales scheduled to begin in the spring of 2025 at a price starting from 4.5 million rubles.

The presentation featured a short-wheelbase 7-seater minivan L1H1, a long-wheelbase 7-seater minivan L2H2, as well as a long-wheelbase version of the "Social Taxi" equipped with a wheelchair lift. The first two modifications are equipped with a 2-liter 150 hp turbodiesel engine, paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. The taxi version is equipped with the same engine, but with a 6-speed manual transmission.

In fact, the Kapitan-C is a localized version of the Maxus V70 model, also known as Iveco Fidato and Chevrolet Express Max, which has been produced since 2023. The differences in the Russian version are mainly in the front-end design.

Currently, the certification of the main modifications of the Kapitan-C is being completed. At the same time, the assembly of cars from large-unit SKD kits is underway at the facilities of the ENA auto division, which is part of the Promtech structure. The company's dealers plan to start selling the new lineup from May.

Promtech's main specialization is the production of commercial and special vehicles based on Lada and GAZ. Under the Kapitan brand, the company introduced rebranded Chinese Huanghai N2 pickups in 2024, and in early 2025, it announced a van, combi, minibus, and ambulance based on the same platform.
